Saif M. Khan, Esq.
Founder & Principal Attorney, Khanections Law, PLLC
Saif M. Khan, Esq. is the founder and principal attorney of Khanections Law, PLLC, dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate U.S. immigration, intellectual property, and government affairs. With a background that bridges military service, senior federal leadership, and strategic legal advocacy, Mr. Khan brings unmatched insight, empathy, and dedication to every client relationship.
An immigrant from India, Mr. Khan took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States while serving in the U.S. Army National Guard. He deployed to Iraq as a combat engineer during Operation Iraqi Freedom, participating in over 100 missions and earning the Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Action Badge. This deep commitment to service laid the foundation for his civilian legal career.
Following his military service, Khan was appointed to high-level roles within the federal government, serving in leadership positions at both the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Selective Service System. At the VA, he advised on congressional oversight matters, interagency policy, and veterans' benefits, while also serving as lead policy coordinator for three White House interagency initiatives on naturalization, legal aid, and the reintegration of formerly incarcerated veterans.
One of his most impactful contributions was leading groundbreaking interagency data sharing between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. This effort aimed to protect noncitizen veterans from deportation after serving their sentence, ensuring their honorable military service was not overlooked. For his leadership, Khan was awarded the Presidential Medal by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).
At the Selective Service System, Mr. Khan served as Chief of Staff and White House Liaison, where he played a key role in agency-wide modernization. He launched the agency’s Office of Enterprise Integration and led initiatives that helped the Selective Service System earn national recognition as one of the top ten best places to work in the federal government. He received performance awards for three consecutive years—2023, 2024, and 2025—for his outstanding contributions. During a transitional period, he also served as Acting General Counsel, providing critical legal oversight and strategic support.
Mr. Khan’s commitment to veterans extends beyond government service. As General Counsel of the American Veterans Committee, he advocated for veterans’ rights both in the United States and on the global stage. He represented the organization at the World Veterans Federation and was awarded the World Veterans Federation Medallion for helping to organize the first global veterans congress, which brought together delegates from around the world to discuss issues affecting veterans in Paris, France. Mr. Khan remains passionate about advocating on behalf of fellow veterans. He previously founded Khanections, LLC, a consulting firm that combined technology with strategic outreach to support clients.
At Khanections Law, Mr. Khan advises clients in immigration law, including EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, EB-5, consular processing, and naturalization; in intellectual property law, covering copyrights, trademarks, licensing, and IP strategy for startups; and in government affairs and federal regulatory compliance, offering services such as policy analysis, federal contracting guidance, and agency engagement.
Mr. Khan earned his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School with a concentration in intellectual property law, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco, and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and is authorized to represent clients in federal immigration and naturalization matters in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Mr. Khan is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Kannada, Saif Khan is deeply committed to public service, equitable policy, and leveraging law to empower underserved communities. His personal journey—from immigrant to soldier to national legal leader—continues to shape his mission of helping others build and protect their American dream.
